Accident Damage

What is the situation regarding non major crash damage? I understand that the car is made of ally but that the front wings are made of "Kevlar". Should the worst happen and one has the average prang resulting in a dent to one or two panels do we have to go to a special body-shop or can one go to your usual trusted repairer? Also are repairs more expensive than normal cars? I hope i'm not tempting providence here.

I thought the wings were made from plastic. So small dents should pop-out with minimal residual damage. Anything greater and I would imagine it's a new wing and paint job to repair it. As for the ali structure, the front and rear bumpers are just bolt on parts, so they are easy enough to repair by any garage. But if you need anything more structural done, then only a specialist will be able to help you as your local garage is doubtful to have the skills and equipment to weld ali.
Therefore, yes I think this kind of repair is very expensive to carry out as Mr Audi charges lawyer rates for its car mechanics.

My wing was scuffed by a Mercedes last year - the local bodyshop did a fine respray job - although being plastic + pearlescent - they had to respray the entire wing for consistency.

Not had any aluminium knocks yet fortunately.
