Adblue

Adblue is a mixture of 32.5% urea (or carbamide) and 67.5% deionised water, for anyone interested.

Crikey - that's 5M urea if it is 32.5% w/v. That's the kind of concentration we use in the lab to solubilise "insoluble" proteins - and I concur with the comment that high molarity urea solutions leave horrible crystalline messes everywhere. It is also used in moisturisers to give "soft" skin - but knowing its effects at the protein level, it's not something I'd leave on skin for any length of time unless in a carefully formulated cosmetic.

The urea is supposed to make the outer keratinised skin layer more permeable to water penetration from the occlusive blockade of trans epidermal water loss. Allegedly.

Urea is found in skin exudate at low concentrations in the sweat (or as I like to think of it - skin pee)

I reckon it’s just expensive nonsense and stick with more frequent applications of cheaper stuff.
