I am sure that I read somewhere on here, that if you fit an after market head-unit that you need some kind of adaptor to link up the exsisting aerial..

Is this so and does anyone have any details please..

On my head unit I have the option of connecting two aerials for improved diversity reception,, how good is the standard aerial?

TIA

My new kenwood head unit had a converter added altough they called it a 'booster'. Didn't check the radio reception when I left the shop more intrested in the MP3 capabilities. Radio reception was terrible no RDS and could tune anything. Took it back and they found they had not wired up the booster to power. Works brilliantly now including all the advanced RDS functions like phone in numbers and the track playing. I don't believe the booster/converter cost a lot. This site might be able to supply them http://www.caraudiodirect.com/. Otherwise Ian Bannings in Guildford might be able to supply the part 01483 301500 http://www.ianbannings.com/.

Ian Bannings do the Porsches, Mercs and BMW installs for local dealers. They had four new BMW X5's having upgraded systems with DVD and two with Playstation 2's being fitted !! (Boy did I have a deprived childhood......) They do know what to supply for aftermarket audio.
