Got a problem with the new car.
Airbag warning lite on dash, clears ok but returns after 30 miles or so

Scan shows
00588 Airbag igniter drivers side N95
32-10 Resistance too high intermittent.
is there an easy fix or shall I go ahead and reject the car?
Done the clean/ resetting of the plug below the seat. No effect.

If I remember correctly, the N95 airbag is the one in the steering wheel, not the airbag in the seat. I'd have to check to be absolutely positive, though.

I'd suggest that it's an easy fix. The most likely culprit is the coil spring / slip ring / squib (call it what you will) behind the steering wheel. That diagnosis fits with your description of the symptoms, too.

Thanks Tom, what do I do now?
It’s an investigative approach to repair from here onwards, ensuring that none of your tests can possibly deploy the airbag.
You mention that the fault can take 30 minutes to manifest itself. Given the specific fault code, this is clearly an intermittent fault, which screams “loose connection”.
It also means that any trial part replacements must be given time to confirm their guilt/innocence.

Cheers,

Tom
