Another problem has arisen!! its having trouble starting now and when i lock it (with the key as central locking isn't working) the red light for the alarm doesn't flash anymore does this have something to do with the battery?!
Thanks
Linzi
Beat me to it Mike - yes, this certainly sounds like the symptoms of a dicky central convenience ECU. They are known to be a tad unreliable and cost about £200 to replace and recode at a dealers.
Hi Linzlad
Did you try the key matching procedure outlined in the posts from the thread I suggested last time ? http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5194
If this failed then it could be the convenience unit as tdiman suggests.
One other thing to check is the front service flap. If this is left slightly open or the catch is out of adjustment then the red alarm light will not continue flashing
well its booked into my nearest audi for tuesday! not looking forward to the cost i suppose it needs doing though and i will benefit by not having to open the doors with the key and jump in at lightening speed so the alarm doesn't go off!!
Thanks for your help
indeed, they haven't even booked it in, she said just turn up so i hope that they will have time to do it, i'm contemplating taking it somewhere else but i don't know if its best to let Audi do it, what does everyone think?
Thanks
as Audi said they would have to 'strip it down to find the wiring fault'...sounds painful!! and they can't do it until 10th April, does anyone know of anywhere that could do it in the Stockport/Manchester area please?
Thank yyooooouuuu
