Alarm going off

Hi
Has anyone else had the problem of the alarm going off on its own when the car is in the sun, no sun no alarm. I have tried shutting down the interior with the switch on the door post but to no avail

it is one of the classic Audi alarm randomly going off question. It can be anything from a dead battery inside the siren unit to a dying car battery (which was my case). Check the main battery first, it is free and easy. Then you want to get a diagnostic scan, it shows which sensor triggered the alarm. Reset the fault codes, wait for the alarm to go off and re-scan to double check which part set it off. If your siren unit's battery is dead, you'll hear 4 beeps from the back of the car after ignition.

Thanks Humps
A new main battery was fitted recently, I have not heard any beeps from the rear, I will get the diagnostic check as you suggest

Service flap

Hi my alarm was going of randamly too but thanks to a search on the forum it was simply the service flap wasnt shutting tight enough, so the sensor was not conecting.

Quick fix (2 mins) by opening the flap and adjusting the barb which meant the hatch closes closer to the car and have since (Fingers crossed) had no repeat of the neghbours knocking on my door complaining of the squicky alarm sounds.:)
