Went to the Kit Car show today at Stoneleigh. On the way out, we drove past an A2 in the carpark, which was beeping. I say beeping, since it seemed quieter than the lights warning sound, however it was the alarm. What a load of crap!!! [22] It was a joke.
I bet it makes thieves laugh out loud.

Kaine-it wasn't the door/hatch ajar warning?. This happened to me once when I didn't shut the door fully-a beep noise.

However, even if it was the full alarm you wouldn't have noticed the difference so your probably right!.

And don't you get me started on the rights of crooks....Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Maybe you triggered the special 'A2 subdued light and sound show' they use at motor events? :D

Had the same alarm thing back awhile... I had left a door open/ajar and the indicators were flashing, sound is useless to scare anyone, it was nextdoor who told me it going off...

Oh well, maybe the 5 watt indicators would dazzle a would-be thief. The horn certainly wouldn't!.

And if anyone asks who is newish to the forum, the horn has been looked at for replacement....and found difficult to do. Something to do with the wiring.

But anything is possible I suppose...pass the air horn will you!!!!!.

Dont quote me on this, but ive been told by a friend that you can adjust something on the horn to make it louder, i'll find out more as its way easier than to change the horn.

The horn is embarrassing - I'm scared to sue it in case someone laughs at me!

Surely it's possible just to fit a two tone horn, they must be available in a size that would fit the A2 plus I'm sure they all run on the standard 12 volts?

Surely changing the horn can't be rocket science? You would think that Audi would have noticed this problem and devised a fix, preferably retrofit. Is it fit for purpose? Now that's interesting! Would I get sued if I was involved in an accident where the use of the horn could have prevented it, but no one heard it? Could a horn from another Audi model be used? All questions , anyone have any answers? How about you Audi?

Sounds like a good feature for the next newsletter!

I think that due to CANBUS it wasn't easy (from memory from a topic way back).

Do a topic search and I'll go through some archive stuff I have tonight to see what I can dig up.

At the end of the day, with a battery and a switch anything is possible!.

Preferably with something else in between, or else sparklers. But you are right of course. Why are simple things an apparent problem with an A2?
