I'm very proud and fortunate to have already had one of these superb Timmus intercoolers fitted to my Tdi 90 in January by Marcus at WOM Automotive. I can't find the words to describe what an improvement it has made to the smooth running of my 163,000 mile engine.

I don't know how long the split intercooler had been affecting the performance of my little 3 cylinder diesel. And Im so pleased that it isn't going to be repeated at some point in the near future because of the quality of its replacement. Giving me absolute peace of mind knowing it will never fail in the same way again. Definately one of, if not the best upgrades I have had done so far on my pride and joy.

Photos above will hopefully show prospective buyers all they need to know about the work that needs to be done to have one of these beauties fitted.
You won't regret buying one, if you can afford to buy one order it NOW!
It's only a matter of time before your OEM one fails so there are no excuses not to get one.
I'm also going to be investing in the other mods (inlet manifold pipes, etc) as soon as finances allow.
Many many thanks to Timmus, Marcus and Rob for all they did for me and Klaudia on that very cold day.
Drew.

5 weeks to go in which to order an intercooler.

This could be a once-only opportunity. There's no guarantee that there'll be another production run after this one.

Cheers,

Tom

Just assessing the condition of mine and also tracing a possible air leak leading to turbo cutting out, I may well add myself to the list soon.

looks great ^

I have no idea what state my current one is in, but I'm very attracted to the idea of not having to worry about it ever again. I just need to work out if I can afford it!

This is a very good reason to buy the all-alloy intercooler, even if you don't fit it until you have to. In fact, it's the primary reason I had the intercooler designed in the first place; I just want to be able to drive around in my A2 for decades to come without having to worry about blowing another intercooler. Of course, it also offers performance advantages, but that's almost just an added bonus.

We've got three weeks until this order closes.

Cheers,

Tom

I'm not going to live that long ..... Anyway, I've read that by 2040, petrol/diesel cars are going to be "museum pieces?"
Still might have one of these, though ... Why? Because I can! AND, it COULD be an appreciating asset! LOL!

Just to add to earlier posts, Will and I tackled the IC replacement job a few weeks ago to fix the leaking and limp home that was becoming ever more prevalent on Will's Storm.

We've had one of Timmus's prototype all alloy intercoolers around for a bit, but the limp home was now sufficiently annoying and often that we thought we'd better get on with the swap.

A big job for us, as we've never taken the front bumper off before, but we followed an excellent guide on the forum.

Took us an afternoon, mostly as we were doing this for the first time.

New IC fitted perfectly, and no more limp mode.

Name is down for another one for the Crystal Blue car!

Good to see Dad and son working together. Working on cars with my dad in the 90's got me into cars. Good memories.

My 4 year old daughter can already work a ratchet and knows how to loosen and tighten things.

Hi Tom/All
Sorry for not having introduced myself before. I joined the club a few years ago and it has been invaluable in sorting out any problems I have come across. I am very impressed by how helpful some of you are; amazed really. I never seemed to get round to writing in as time is in short supply and I always get carried away reading the threads and not sussing out how to join in in any discussion until now. I have driven about 340k miles between my (our) two A2's, but everything I have come across has been covered somewhere in here !
Hope to meet some of you in due course.

I would like to order one unit for my TDI90 please and Im following this with a pm.
Martin

Hi Martin
Welcome to the forum! and what a fantastic first post to be ordering your alloy intercooler for your A2 - a good decision!

Look forward to hearing about your new mod and will be great to see some photographs

Much as us like to put my name on one of these I'll need to wait to see if we get a second run. I'm spending so much on the car just now that I can't justify the cost. :(

Hello folks,

I've received a number of last-minute messages, but have been called away from home with work, so haven't managed to reply to them all yet. I'll be home tomorrow and will get back to everyone ASAP. Thanks for your patience.
Given the level of last-minute interest, I won't be able to place the order until Monday at the earliest, so the order phase has effectively been extended over the weekend.

Cheers,

Tom
