A2 DRS

Hi guys, only my second post so please be gentle.

I am looking to replace what I believe are the original A2 Alloys on my car. The ones I currently have are corroded and not worth saving (maybe use as spares) as I took the car to Wicked Wheels in Guildford today and they said that no one in the UK would be able to refurbish the wheels to the current finish and to buy new ones would be in the region of £300 each!

Not really an option, the bulldog holding the wallet (which is my conscience, not my wife:D ) won't allow that kind of spending.

I'm pretty new to this and have been searching the web for replacements at an affordable price, I have found a set on e-bay that have 15" rims and need advice on whether they wil fit, the tyre sizes are different to my current set!

These have 195/65 R15 91V tyres on them.

Any advice is appreciated and I look forward to receiving my window stickers and discount card.

I am aware of a local workshop that will repair my alloys for £45 each! My most damaged wheel is the nearside front and I shall consider this if and when we sell the A2! The same company works regularly on BMW work, so have a good look around (just tap in alloy wheel repair + locality). Would do further checks before spending lots of spondulies on new wheels.

(apologies if you have checked around!)

They won't fit I'm sorry to say.

A4 wheels have a PCD of 112mm (ie the diameter of the circle joining up the 5 wheel bolts is 112mm) and the A2 hubs are all 100mm.

You need to look for either Audi A3 (old type) or TT wheels really.

Cheers,

Mike

I had not realised the A2 had 100mm PCD - thought ALL Audis were 112mm. Does that mean that other VW Group alloys - eg Fabia VRS - are ok for the A2 or are the offsets different?

Thanks for the advice. I have had a good look around but have taken it as read from Wicked Wheels that the cost would be too high for the refurb of the wheels, they are finished between normal alloys and chrome, hand polished I think the bloke said!

Skipton, shame about the A4 wheels, I will have to keep looking. Old A3 or TT

thanks

Old A3s (8L-type) and old TTs (8N-type) both had 100mm PCDs, but the current model range are all, as you say, 112mm.

As for other VAG ranges, I wouldn't like to say. If the PCD is 100mm and the offsets work out right for the rim width, then yes, they should fit a treat.

Cheers,

Mike

I have a set of A3SE 16" rims which are surplus to requirements, they were refinished by SKF Audi bodyshop about 2 years ago, I also have a set of vredestein sportrac 2 tyres I could have put on for you 205/50/16 which corrected the speedo on my A2 sport, if interested PM me to discuss.
