Also too many too many communication errors

I see theres another thread with which VCDS states "too many communication errors" but the problem did not exist when scanned with a genuine a VAG-COM cable.

I have an A2 1.6FSI in our family and also my brothers household has one an 1.4 petrol version.
I have a genuine HEX+CAN and it scans my A2 fine, but when I scan my brothers A2, VCDS reported "too many communication errors to continue".

Theres also some a relay clicking noise when the cable is plugged in, the noise seems to be come from the Left footwell. the clicking is similar but quieter than the hazzard light relay.

Not looked into it in detail but from the very little info I've provided anyone care to comment on what it could be?

Thanks

Hi, It sounds like something is shorting causing the relay clicking you can hear.

Does your Brother's car have an after market stereo?

It could be the central convenience unit clicking - it's located in the front passenger side footwell. Not sure why it would do this only while being scanned though.
If no one from our club can offer a solution, try posting the problem on the Audi Sport web site. They have a dedicated section on VCDS and a couple of RossTech specialists (probably employees) who are quite helpful. This is the link - http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=27

Its the standard Stereo.

The clicking use to also happen when he started the car but I didn't notice it when I picked the car up off him. Maybe check it out a bit more in the morning.

How much do the central convenience units cost?

thanks
