Alternative cup holder?

Due to the lack of factory rear cup holders out there I have repurposed a Škoda Octavia rear unit, (lots in the scrapyard up here), I’ll be doing some live testing over the next few weeks. I’ll let you know how it goes. It can be fitted using the existing holes in the a2 centre unit so no new holes required.

Not bad so far but may need some fettling, holds 2 cans well and also serves as a rear ashtray if you need one.

If it all works I will post a bit more detail on what to do and where to chop it up.

Bye for now.

Very interesting. I like that it's still in the VAG group as well so fits in well with oem+ mods

Another alternative but definitely not OEM looking. A cup holder from a VW Golf mk5 and a dremel.

Not finished. Still to tidy up but first fit looks pretty good to me.

I liked the Octavia part but it’s really larger travel mugs and shakers I needed to hold so went for the bigger option. It was £8 plus postage

This looks excellent, love the way you’ve cut and folded the plastic to fit.

Finished! Although maybe needs some paint to match my platinum interior. I’ll have somewhere to stick my later cups now though.
The little square is a hinged section which I plan to put a pop-up usb charger socket into at some point.

Glad to see some lesser cars being put to good use out there. Just to update, Skoda cup holder still going well. Had some success taking corners at 50 with all the accompanying body roll but with no spillage.

This cup currently in Lidl fits nicely and is electrically heated, so the a2 power socket excellently positioned.

Now that is next level! Thanks for yet another golden tip!
I cobbled my attempt together after reading your post so I have you to thank for my unspilled drink this morning.
