New gearbox/engine mount (from Polo without the bracket), but look at this heavy vibrations(!). Anyone seen this before?

I only saw this on my engine before I changed the lower "dog bone" mount. But I too have the same gearbox/engine mount as yours, but my engine runs smooth once it starts to warm up

Replaced two of the engine mounts; the dogbone was completely shot

The engine shaking continues:
That could be a worn driveshaft

How old is the clutch friction plate? I have seen them with damaged springs in the plate and damaged fingers causing noise and vibrations at various speeds from stationary at idle and anywhere up to 4500 rpm.. Also rust on the output shaft can do strange things to clutches.

Yes
TDI75 owners; does your car also have the extra support bar between startmotor and gearbox mount, or is the support applicable for TDI90 only?
Yes, mine does. 2003 AMF. Cleaned Engine Bay yesterday, so have this picture handy...

This looks like the rubber bit. Chuffing expensive though and currently out of stock. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/tedgum/12209756
From my initial check this mount appears to control front to back movement & support the heavy engine & clutch/gearbox side,
the only visible rubber buffers do appear to have a larger gap than I’d expect to the alloy casting ( does anyone have a new one to compare the measurement)?
I suspect that the static weight of the engine rests on a section that isn’t visible & it’s this that wears down , any photo’s out there?
Thanks
Keith
