Smith Knight Fay Audi of Stockport - for their continuing excellence in the field of incompetance!

After replacing my dash pod to cure a faulty oil warning indicator, I was told 2 days later that they needed the car back to recode all the keys (the one I left with the car was fine).
10 days later, I left the car with them again (this is Thursday morning) and lo and behold, I get a phone call Friday evening saying I can't have my car back till Tuesday!!!!!
It seems Audi have faxed them the wrong code twice and they can't have another go til Monday now.

I do hope you've got a very nice couretsy car for all this inconvenience.

Perhaps we should have a Hall of Shame/Hall of Fame for the best/worst dealer service out there.

Almost a 1.4SE in Merlot Red, Biege interior, 16" 5 spoke alloys, DIS, Open Sky, Elec rear windows.

I'm on my 4th courtesy car at the mo' - a 1.4 sport petrol, which seems gutless next to the TDI.

The previous one was best, 1.4 TDI SE, DIS, Open Sky, rear electric windows.

A dealer rating for the forum would be a great idea. Portsmouth Audi would defintitely get a 10/10 from me and I'm sure that even John could find it in his heart to award Whitehouse/Maidstone a point or two?!

We are waiting for our A2 to be delivered and as I said in an earlier post, so far so very good from Centurion Audi in York - but as the driver of a Beemer (I know its an Audi site) I am amazed at how much effort BMW UK put into follow up calls when my car has been in for a service or any warranty work.

Apparently BMW UK take a very dim view if our comments are bad and the garage is suitably reprimanded where it hurts - presumably some sort of financial penalty - as it happens my BMW garage are wonderful and the service is second to none - they seem to value me a a customer, strange really ;)

How long before other mnufacturers start to have some impact on the muppet dealers that affect their future sales numbers - big trick to miss in my view.

Sounding like Victor Meldrew now - must go for a lie down.

SJ,

Personally, I wouldn't put B*W on such a high pedestal (personal experience). No manufacturer is without its bad dealer/s - B*W included. Saying that, I am glad yuo have had a good dealer.

Rob,

I sort of agree with your idea, however also believe it could get out of control. Members could just start posting ratings without real reason/explanation, i.e. another manufacturer dealer employee could register and diss their competition. Rather than a dedicated 'Hall of Fame/Shame', I think it would be wiser just to give our opinions of dealers when requested. Additionally, I think that if we ever wanted this site to be supported byb AUDI in the future (inc support at the Social), we need to avoid this kind of thing.
Of course, this is just my opinion. :)

Totally agree. It would probably be way too easy for people to sound off and absolutely slate a dealer for the smallest of things.

JD, Had another look at the car today - but no picnic. So far Whitehouse have been spot on. Now the test begins!!!!

I have to agree having gone the other way. My local BMW dealer is just excellent. They even got a new tyre and wheel which was not in stock couriered in to fix my car in under 4 hours.

Audi couldn't even get me a new gearbox in 8 weeks.

Of course that particular problem rests with Audi UK's part supply problems.
