Another 2nd Service Question

Car is dues it 2nd Avs soon - 800 miles ish.

Getting conflicting reports - some places are saying it needs a Second '1st AVS' and wouldnt need a '2nd avs' until it has done 40kmiles, and others are saying it needs a '2nd Avs' - the second obviously more expensive.

Any ideas which is right - car is Oct 04 reg 1.6Fsi 30k miles.

I can see where the garage is coming from. Additional checks are done and parts changed (air filter, plugs etc) at 40k miles and you will have gone way past that when your subsequent oil change is due. It therefore makes sense to combine these tasks with your upcoming service even though it means having some of the work done early.
If you don't sell the car, something else to budget for is the timing belt which should be changed after 4 years
