Another valuation

So still ponding what to do as I really need a 7 seater child transport.

So the other car that maybe for the chopping block is my yellow CS with the lupo gti engine conversion, this car has the 1.6 16v 125bhp engine from the lupo gti and it has has new brakes all round, new bilstein b6 front and rear new b3 spring, it also has a whiteline rear anti roll bar. It also has the lupo 6 speed gearbox, with a new clutch.

Private number plate A2EWU

Anything needing doing on this car was done, and then some the list of things done is crazy long!

Interior it has the Audi TT wheel, pedals, a custom yellow stitched gear gator and yellow golf gti 6 speed knob with a yellow circle.

Wheels it currently has nice 17 205 40 wheels it could come with sports also.

Body work is good but of course not perfect.

The body is 112k miles
The engine and gearbox are around 70k

She isn’t quite perfect, but a lot of work has gone in and expense, this project started almost 2 years ago and a lot has changed in this time and I just don’t have the space in my life to enjoy this car anymore and I’m hoping someone can get it perfect.

This is an early photo and she is the one on the left.

Wouldn’t selling a child be an easier option? ?

Oh god now that’s tempting. Unfortunately I’m in a very similar position and so couldn’t take it on. 2 personal A2’s and a 7 seater kid mover.

That engine is also very tuneable it’s you wanted more power.

In terms of valuation, who knows, is there another one out there?!?

Yes 2 in Germany non in the UK. Remember the engine and gearbox is also very rare with only 1000 Lupo gtis ever in the UK

I’d guess a harder sell than the TDI 90 you’d considered selling? I’d say the market for that @ £2.5-3k would be wider for that than for your super special colour storm GTI?

Maybe but maybe not, the CS is a much more special car. And much harder and more expensive to reproduce!

I agree with you. And it’s probably the one I’d like to own of the two if forced to choose.

But when you take into account the slightly marmite nature of a yellow CS (I’m 100% in the love it camp btw!) and the unique nature of the drive train, I’d tend to think the other would find a wider audience?

But then again it’s a fast petrol you can drive through London and Bristol.

I love it to bits, it’s just that most my miles in it are smooth miles with 3 kids in the back!

Sorry to go off topic, but what 7 seater are you looking at? We went over to a people mover with the arrival of number 3. I very much wanted to go for an S-Max and still think we should have. In the end we went for a Fiat 500L MPW because 1. Sam liked them and 2. You get an awful lot of car in terms of age and miles in comparison with the same value S-Max.

It would have to be a touran or a sharan variant. As it’s VAG and PD based I will know my way round it!

What happened if you joined them together, make a rig that attaches one to the other and hey presto you have an 8-seater double A2 with 215 bhp. Job done.

Would be closer to 250bhp but putting it down maybe a challenge

Is your TDI tuned too? if so you’ve got a pretty potent pair of A2’s and both CS’ in yellow so pretty rare.

I hope you could tell I was joking about joining the two together, was watching the top gear clip with the Alfa 166 and Saab 9000 joined together.

As to your 7 seater dilemma I’d be going with the Touran on the basis they are golf underpinnings and parts are made by the billion. Whilst the Sharan largely has loads of VAG parts too I don’t like the association with ford as they had crappy parts, obviously depends on which one you get as the newer ones are all VAG cars. All about price point and whether you are open to other brands 7-seater offerings?

The TDi 90 has a custom turbo and is chipped it’s very quick but would be slower on a track it’s not a yellow CS, the one in this picture is a 1.4 petrol which is the only safe car at the moment due to being bog standard and my partners car.

I would suggest you put the yellow CS up for sale at £5 - 5.5k and you will eventually sell it at that price. I do agree it’s a very niche car however and it would be unlikely to sell quickly.

How funny that there’s a heap of us with 7 seaters as well as an A2. I went Touran, although mine is a 5t (newer shape) variant with the 150bhp 2.0 TDi.
