Anyone tried this retro-fit aero wiper blade?

Looks like it will slot straight onto the 00-02 wiper arm. £10.65 incl UK delivery.

Has anyone tried it? I'll probably order one and report back unless anyone reports a bad experience with it in the next day or so. This looks to be a good solution - seems a bit of a waste to have to buy a new arm to fit the newer floppy blade.

I thought the A2 blade mounting dimensions were physically bigger than those of standard or aero blades used on other cars so the adapter may not fit. May be worth checking this out before ordering

Cheers Spike

Good point Spike - thanks, you've saved me wasting time & money. I've just tried fitting a "standard" adapter left over from the wiper for another car. It won't fit, the wiper arm is too wide, as you say. Makes sense for it to need to be stronger as it has to handle a single large blade, so the forces are larger than for smaller blades.

I'll just order their 28" refills - should do the trick as well as saving a few quid.

Well this will not fit as when you go to check make and model it only comes up with the refills not the blades, so they don't fit, for me its worth looking on ebay for a car thats getting scrapped and getting it of them, i got mine £40 inc P&P (with blade) but that needs to be replaced now got most of the winter out of it and i think the original is only about £13 anyway.

Brabazon you could try a PM to the Oilman on here he does the sales for opie oil, it looks like it does as it says 02 onwards and thats the change to the new blade,+ it says pin so i think that means its the pin that holds the blade on

Cheers Phil

I bought one of those and a trico one which purports to fit. Neither fitted. So I now have two useless 28" blades. The trico one will fit later models so will sell it on. The one like this will only fit lesser motors :) The fitting is not wide enough for the wiper arm.

BTW got the trico one through Opie oils which I presume is oilman but used Tricos website to get the code

It would be great if you could take pic of the fitting of the trico one just so we can see what it looks like, as i thought that one would be for the later A2's that have the floppy wiper already

I came across these PIAA wipers right after I replaced my wiper arm to the new style! I've always been interested to know if these work as they seem to do the job which rainX does. They are not cheap either, at about £20 a pop, but if they work and save me from applying rainX, then I might be tempted to swap my old wiper arm back in :)

Hey Humps, not sure if you did the check?, but when you search for the A2 nothing is listed no part numbers, so i take it they don't do any for the A2 like most don't

Cheers Phil

Hi Bretti i think what they are trying to do is fit a floppy blade to the old style are with no mod, up to me changing my arm to the new one there was no other way of doing this and it looks that there still isn't. Keep looking but if you want the floppy wiper bite the bullet and fit the new arm

Cheers Phil
