Anyone used wind deflectors?

Been looking at the various wind deflectors to fit (yes I do do something as barbaric as open the windows!) and wondered if anyone has them fitted?

I've looked at the Clim Air (used them before on other models), DRESSLER-SPEZIALHANDEL from Germany and the OctimeX, also from Germany.

Any thoughts or experiences would be much appreciated.

I've seen Robin's wind deflectors installed at the front. They look neat and tidy, and he said they are quite good too! I'm sure Robin can point you to the vendor!

These are the ones i have got on maddys and mine had to get them of ebay maddys where cheeper than mine maddys i got for £12 plus p&p very easy to fit and stops the warbleing noise you get with window down

I use those deflectors from seller "DRESSLER-SPEZIALHANDEL" on Ebay. Recieved them just a couple of days ago.

I had some problems getting the electric window to close fully. The window stops about 3-4 cm from fully closed, then they go down about 10 cm automaticlly. Had to bend and press the deflectors pretty firmly to get the windows to close completly.

My deflectors are made by "Team HEKO"

yes it is a safty thing with the windows
mine still do if you close a bit at a time they will go up
my deflectors are the same team heko

im going to drag this up

fitted some heko wind deflectors from germany, no more buffering..but the passenger side window fouls on the deflector, i got to sand it a little bit close to the top of the window so the window closes proparly.
 
I've also got the team Heko ones from ebay "DRESSLER-SPEZIALHANDEL" - after seeing Robins.

I've got the 4 set and they are really good. It's so nice to have the windows open again.
 
wind deflectors

i had some a few months ago from DRESSLER-SPEZIALHANDEL but my front windows did not close right and went back down about 10 cm so i took them off any ideas how to stop this thanks.

Be aware that unless you fit the rear ones very very tightly they will come out :mad:

I do sustained motorway mileage and had noticed that they come loose. I forgot to do my weekly tighten and they fell out today!
 
Hi Guys. Have you any links. I've looked on ebay and googled but would rather purchase from someone you have used so I know they are reliable and good value. Ones I've found on ebay are charging a fortune for p+p. I'll keep looking myself but don't want to use anyone unreliable :)

I got the four-set. The front ones fit perfectly but the rear ones are awful and the instructions for fitting them are next to useless. There is a metal 'clip' supplied but there is just a confusing diagram on a tiny piece of paper to guide you to insanity just trying to make sense of it. Stick with the front ones. The back ones are a waste of money and I already lost one of mine. It popped out and fell on the motorway. Needless to say, I wasn't going to go back for it.

The windows will automatically open again after installing the deflectors and trying to shut the windows. You need to stop the window from closing within a few centimetres then edge it shut bit by bit. This will allow the window to shut properly on most occasions thereafter (this info is in the instructions).

I would question whether the savings on Air-con and any other advantages of wind deflectors would outweigh the potential cost of replacing the window winder motor due to premature failure caused by excessive use of the electric windows. I tend to use air-con instead of opening the windows unless it is scorching hot and i need a blast of 'real air'

PS. With regards with who to buy from: I would just look for the seller with he cheapest Heko deflectors and cheapest postage. I checked ebay and the rates for postage to the UK are in Euros. It doesn't actually look that bad since they are coming from Germany. The seller I bought from is not advertising on there right now but I guess all Hekos are the same regardless of seller. I was recommended Hekos on this forum and I don't know what other brands can offer as I have not tried them. Check whether you are buying a pair or quantity of four as this varies from auction to auction and you can't buy the rear set seperately (apparently). Seller's feedback will give idea of reliability but with paypal you are usually protected against being shafted and even non-ebay established registered companies have legal responsibilities and are unlikely to rip you off.
