Area representatives

Do we have area reps on the forum for organising get togethers or shows ect? Or is it just a case of any meetings and shows being advertised in social area?

We don't have area reps per se Mark. We have toyed with setting something like this up previously but have typically relied on the social secretaries to manage the main calendar, with volunteers such as Steve (Wales) and Murdo (Scotland) adding bespoke events.

If there is an appetite for more formally managed local events, I'm sure we can look at this model again and look for volunteers to fill the roles.

That sounds fair enough to me @Darren C . With the lock down nearing it's end (hopefully) and the summer on our doorstep it tends to be the time when everyone starts coming together. On other forums I've been a member of in the past always had area reps and they would be responsible for organising that area for local events and rallying for motor shows ect in other areas. I have been an area rep before and I enjoy bringing folks together and organising local and national events. If it's something others are interested in then great but if not then my enquiry will have been answered.
I guess I'd simply ask if anyone thinks it's a good idea or not.
