Hello to all,
I have at last bought myself a A2 yesterday,1.4TDI sport with Open sky dont know if thats a good or bad thing after reading some of the posts on the site anyway, the car has full audi service history covered 64,000 and is in my eyes a "MINTER". The only thing is there is no owner manual with the car, service book all history but no user manual i got the car from a non audi dealer so they were a bit hit and miss to showing me the display/trip com etc, also wot is the button next to the gear lever on the right on top i can not remember wot is marked on the button, any pointers from you will be a great help also can i buy a manual from audi?I pick the A2 up next weekend its a 200 mile round trip so any help on the displays etc will be more than helpful to get the little fella home, going to get the club stickers ordered today to help fly the flag!

Thanks st Perrin

Congrats with a new car!:) A easy way getting a A2 manual is getting one from a condemned car. If you know where to find a local scrap-heap nearby with a A2, you usually find the owners manual in the glove compartment.

Cheers,

Hi and congrats on being a new owner of the best wee car around! Opensky is a great option, just make sure you research the raft of info on this forum and look after it well. The owners manual will be available from Audi I'm sure - keep your eye on eBay as well as the full document holder with all paperwork comes up now and then.
The button next to your gearstick is the ASR button - cant recall what the acronym stands for but its traction control to the non technically minded like myself. You will never need to touch it unless you live somewhere thats experiences lots of snow and frosty weather - press and hold the button to turn the function OFF. You will see an orange icon on your display (warning sign surrounded by a circular arrow. A quick press reactivates the function again.

Take a look at the thread entitled 'buying and owning an A2' for everything that the dealer missed or didnt know - anything else just ask in here. Welcome :D

Hi St Perrin
Welcome to the club and many years of trouble free driving. As Murdo said, the ASR (anti-slip regulation) is for driving in snow and slippery conditions. My dealer referred to it as the Norwegian button and said I didn't need to know about that! Once pressed the ASR will cut back in again once a certain speed is reached (35 mph according to this thread which expands on the subject:
