Audi A2 1.2TDI Won´t start. :( ?

I think the hydraulic pump is moreorless going continuously. It's not super noisy but is 'buzzing' even with the ignition off. I can't see any obvious leaks on the accumulator (black in photo) but not sure I would if there were. The expansion tank (green top) is showing below min. Sent messages to the professionals in the meantime, but with BH I'm not expecting much until next week at the earliest.

You need to loosen the ack a half turn in order to check the hydraulic fluid level in the reservoir. It should then be within the square "window" of the reservoir wall.

Disconnect the pump electrically before you loosen the accumulator. Top up the system with VW/Audi steering system oil. You either have too low an oil level or a new accumulator is required (or both).

Thanks RAB. I've disengaged the clutch manually and I'll roll it onto my drive. I'm away for work for a couple weeks from next week, so will gave to wait until I'm back.

I'll report progress when made so it can help others, but I'll certainly start with what you mention.

Many thanks Richard

Sorry for raising an old topic. My car successfully passes the adaptation, but at the end, when it says "StartMot.", I turn the key, but the starter does not crank.
I also noticed that when the engine is off, in tiptronic mode the gears do not change, the first gear is always on on the display.
The question is, why do the gears not change when the car is off? The car drove successfully all the time. The problem came suddenly.

Will the cat start in neutral?

I haven’t started my 1.2 for a couple of months. I re connected the battery a couple of days ago and it wouldn’t crank over. I can hear a quiet buzzing from the pump. I will try again with a fully charged battery as it did happen once before.

No. Neither in Neutral, no in Stop. Symptoms like starter motor failure, but it is ok.
It’s not your starter motor. The car thinks it’s in gear so it won’t attempt to start.

The first thing to check is if the car is in gear or not. If it will go into neutral (ie it’ll roll) then at least you know it’ll change. It is likely to be wear to the pivot, guide tube or clutch OR failure of the clutch slave cylinder.

Yes, I can engage neutral and roll it. Funny thing – I already changed guide tube with new one, clutch was replaced 01.03.2024 (Luk) and I measured resistance of clutch cylinder on those 3 contacts – it is 3.1 – 3.5 Omhs (some say it is ok).
Yes, in the workshop they said me that it seems like car always engage a gear (suppose, 2nd gear) and the motor can't be started. But they don't know what causes it.
And, again, why it can't switch gears i tiptrionic while engine is off?

it won’t let you select gears up and down if it is ‘confused’ about which gear it’s in. It’s the same issue with it not starting. The only way to resolve is get everything in alignment and re do basic settings.

And one more thing I noticed, is that max. voltage is 2.70 v. Even if I disattached steel wire from the gearbox lever at all. I presume there is should be a little less than 4 v.
And is there any whаtsарр groups related to A2 3L?

Re WhatsApp, not that I’m aware of though there is a FB group.
