Oil separator replaced on 1.4 AUA petrol engine. Hopefully this will solve the oil seepage problem at the back ob the engine.

Rust removal from interior of brake drums…

I planned to have also brake discs, pads and shoes and major service done by this timeframe, but sadly my mechanic did not have time. Hopefully, it will be sorted in next 14 days. I can’t wait to rev the engine to the limiter on a twisty road :).

I see in the video that you struggle to remove the drum.
This struggle can normally be avoided if you first reset the internal brake shoe wear adjustment, i. e. by pushing the wedge upwards.
This can be done through a wheel screw hole.
More info here:

Thank you. Great advice for next time.
The problem was the rust edge that was keeping the drum to be removed. With your advice, should be really easy.

Wheel center hub broken plastic pin welding:
Although I have spare center hubs I have decided to try to repair this one with two broken plastic pins. Since plastic pins are not flexible anymore a little more power needs to be used, but it worked.

The wiper needed replacement so I went with Bosch AR70N even though I read some bad reviews about it here.
Fitment was easy and it works great (at least with the car not moving :)) + the car now got a little bit modern look :).

I have replaced the rear left door lock again (with the exact door lock from this car) to get rid of the annoying clicking noise with ignition on. The dreaded won't desafe issue is gone. Hopefully it will stay like that.

So you took a good lock out and replaced it with a faulty one? But confused but good videos. Maybe do one of the repair work on the microswitch please?

I had a problem with rear left doors that did not lock. I though that the lock was faulty, so I have replaced it with a new lock from scrapcar. But it still did not lock. I have checked the cables, they were ok. So I have replaced the door control module, which fixed the issue. Since the door locking worked I have left also the lock from scrap car in. That later developed problem...

Thanks so much for all the videos you make and post, really helpful. I’ve just fitted one of these AR70N blades on my 1.4 SE. I’m with you on this one

Thank you, glad it helped. This is the main reason for all these videos.

Personally I prefer a project thread on here. There are now a few bad examples of repairs done by someone on YT. Keeping the write up on here is not any more private but you will get pointers and help and perhaps more sensible questions from members here.

Whatever you decide to do good luck.
Re: Bad examples-Totally agree......permanent removal of the anti roll bar is not a good idea

Since I have replaced the rear brake shoes and also brake cylinders I have rechecked the engagement point of the handbrake, which was ok.
