Audi A2 Nürburgring

Just watched this; great find. I've been telling friends how much fun these are for nearly ten years!

What I've learned is that if one is committed and works with the car, one will be rewarded with an engaging experience.

If not, they'll seem boring and disconnected.

I've learned a lot with Alison.

The A264 from Ashurst to East Grinstead is a fun place to play... 😇

Just watched the video and reading some of the comments........................heres one.

These cars are a guilty pleasurethe chassis is based off the pq24 platform of cars, so that’s your fabia, polo, Ibiza, a1 etc But because the chassis is made of aluminium and aluminium is a week metal alloy everything has been designed with overkill so the a, b and c pillars are overly thick.. the suspension pic up points are rock solid.. this creates a mega stiff chassis.. where the other cars in the same family arnt known for inspiring handling, these a2s handle in an amazing way with high cornering speeds as demonstrated in the vid.. it also has incidentally the widest track of the family too.The 1.4 aua has the sweetest chassis out of the lot as it’s an aluminium block which weighs 90kilos…. a good 45 kilos lighter then the diesel over the front axle so weight distribution is very close to a 50:50 split This car is Litterally a secret that very few know about when it comes to handling balance as most people can’t get over the looks..The perfect engine for this car would be the 1.0tsi chzc 3 pot engine that you get in the Volkswagen up Gti! It weighs 93kilos and with a hybrid turbo is good for 190ps.Strengthen the rods like you would do in a bam and the engines good for 300ps in a 1 litre with the use of an is38 turbo found in a golf r.That paired with a diet and some light weight 3l model suspension parts could get one of these stripped out a2s down to 750kgs It would be a monster on track.

I came to see if that had been posted as I stumbled across it earlier today. The driver is very complimentary about the car and the little beast does so well revving to just below 6.5k like its not 20 + years old. At 5.50 is the Porsche makes no ground through the bends which is a testament to the car, the owners mods and the driver.

I love throwing my little A2 about and its a hoot to drive, for balance I also have owned and tracked an Elise for 20+ years.
