It was great to see everyone at ADI today, it was a bit chilly but dry!!

Good turnout - 28 A2s and Robin's amazing S1 (I class it as an Honorary A2 and he brought his real A2 too).

So I thoroughly enjoyed the day and meeting new and old faces (some older than others!)

The awards were as follows

Long distance award -
Went to Andre for his journey from Germany to ADI. These guys travel here especially for our A2 meets and they have been to other events with us in the past.
Last time they brought the 1.2, this time the tdi 90. I think it is great to have them join us, perhaps we could return the honour soon and visit an A2 meet in Germany???

Special Mention-

Was for A2Steve's car (or should I say "van" with all of the goodies he was delivering). I just liked the subtle personalisation. Great wheels ( I wonder where he got them from ?? ;)) and nice trim work on the front grills.

Modified-
Went to ZipnJeff's great "Air ride A2". The work he has done on that car to change the air ride set up into a professional looking install with added features is great and he has some very interesting plans for more mods! It is great to have a club that can accept radically modified cars as well as OEM standard cars!!! We are all the richer for the variety. It is also interesting that out of 28 cars there were no two that were similar, let alone the same. That is great.

Best "OEM style"-
Drew Robert's TDI 90 Sport is a good example of a car that has not perhaps had the best service history, but now it is back on the "being pampered list" and it is a great example of one of the top models in the range (In my view anyway).

Finally (waits for the fanfare!)

Best A2-
I have to be honest here, I had planned to deliberately ignore any cars owned by any of the A2OC team, but in all honesty I think it would be a travesty to bar A2Sumo's car from the awards, just because he is the event secretary. That car is BEAUTIFUL and a credit to its owner !!! Well worthy of the "Best A2" award (in my view)

So a big thanks to Mike English, Vonnie and the rest of the team for organising yet another event that makes me kind of proud to be an A2 owner.

And a big thanks to everyone in the club (those that could make it and those that couldn't) that make this club great and a pleasure to belong to.

See everyone at the meal at the end of the year hopefully?

Steve B

Thank you very much for the award Steve it was very unexpected as there were so many more deserving A2's there (Robins Mauritius blue TDI90 is a stunner). Walking around the showground we seemed to be by far the more cohesive, friendly club and I was proub to be a member. We may not have the fastest or the most expensive Audi's but they certainly are the most interesting.

Hopefully see you all again soon.

I will get my pics uploaded and on to Flickr in the morning. I have to do some sorting first. There are a lot of track pics... And some A2s.

Many thanks to the social master, Mike, for organising yet again. Say it every time, but it needs to be said. Great to meet so many great friends, old and new. Looking forward to Christmas and the possibility of a Deutsche Roadtrip im neuen Jahr

Chris

Should start calling it the weed whacker

lol "laugh out loud" i was amazed at how the wheel arches just rested on the outside edge of your rims !

ive uploaded the video of timmus's campervan escapades, but forgot the name ( so many to remember ) of the member who said they would edit and upload to utube so you could all enjoy , plus the silent A2 as it glided past :), Note passengers hanging on for dear life ...

WOW ADI 2015 ---Fantastic day/weekend.
Vonnie and i are now home and unpacked after a fantastic weekend with the A2oc. For us ADI 2015 started friday afternoon with a mini convoy from essex with jeffers66 joining us for the trip. We arrived at the hotel in good time so headed to the bar for refreshments of the liquid variety. We were joined by several other members including Andre from Germany. It became time to go to the table for our pre ADI meal, nice food and good laughs were had by all.
The morning of the show started with a nice cooked to order breakfast-must say for those that have suffered the awful breakfast at the Hilton the last couple of years this was fantastic news. Whilst on the subject of the hotel -- the was our first year at the Premier inn and we WILL be going back it was nicely finished and quiet with everyone reporting a good nights sleep. Anyway back to ADI-we started to gather in the cars ready to leave for the meeting point at DUNNS Lane. i handed the lead to Chris as he is local and knows the way which was a huge weight of my mind and meant the cars go to the meeting point and the track clean!
Once the passes were handed out we moved to the club stand. As per last year we were back to the grassy corner. Many thanks for Murdo and jeffers going ahead to set the gazebo up in readiness of our arrival. I had asked for 30 pitch passes from the organisers and for the first time the club filled all spaces and in fact we had 31 A2's on the day-this was made up by the usual regulars and some new members along with some old members but new to the social side of the club. The weather was cool but importantly it was dry. Thanks to MR A2 cars Tony and Petra for the warm hats that they gave out -- lots were put into good use all day. The cars looked great and got some great comments from show goers and whilst i chatted to some of the other clubs on show. Tea and coffee was flowing nice with the addition of the two extra burners--thanks to new members John and jan(hope i remembered correctly) and Jeff and Glynn for the yummy biscuits.
On a rather somber note us old regular attendees to ADI will know how much MR Paul Harris loved giving his commentary during the day as the different classes and clubs headed to sample the race track. With the sad news the Paul had passed away a few months ago it was odd not to hear him yesterday.

Lunch time came so i decided to fire up the cooker and feed the club members with hot dogs-they seamed popular, easy to serve and cook. Thanks again to Tony and Petra for the boxes of cakes. Once lunch was over Steve B gathered everyone together for the prize giving. I think I'm not alone in saying what a fantastic job Steve did in doing this and paying for the trophies -YES I KNOW I WON AN AWARD SO PROBABLY BIASED:D There was some great cars on the stand and ill say it again and again--all cars are welcome.
Our club always seems to be very lucky in winning the chance to go out in the demo cars with the pro drivers at the wheel and this year is no different with i think 4 members getting the chance. Once the parade lap was done it was a quick dash back to the hotel for a freshen up and back out to dine at the The Bollingbroke Arms. Our party was for 25 people and with the pre ordering or the food meant we all got served our food in good time and as before very tasty it was to.
So once again can i please thank you all--for without you all coming to the socials they wood be very lonely. Yes the organising takes time and at times is stressful but when i see the smiling faces and laughter during the events all that stress just melts away.
Photos to follow cheers mike and Vonnie

Looked like it was a great show, I can't wait until next year's shows especially the 2 day AITP. All going well Redbull 2 will be ready. For all of the shows I've been to this year I'd like to thank Mike for his organising these great socials and all the members who attended. Great forum with great members with the great A2.

Thanks to Mike & Vonnie for organising the meet. It was our first time, definitely won't be our last. Great to put some faces to names & meet other forum members. What can I say, but what a friendly lot you are. Echo earlier comments, if you havn't been to one of these meets, can highly recommend it. Was a great day out. Will be up for the pub meals in the future. Thanks to Tony for the scan of my car, didn't have as many faults as I thought. Thanks again to you all for making it a memorable day. See you all at the next social. John & Jan.

A really big thank you to everyone that attended on Saturday. It really was a great day, myself and the family really enjoyed it! :)

I'd like to add a special thank you to Mike and Yvonne too, they have provided excellent organisation again, as with all A2OC events; really well done! The stand looked great, the corner pitch that we have there is a fantastic spot. It's great being able to sit behind the cars and look over to the track! I thought the awards were really well thought out and a great idea, they certainly added something special to the day. :p I've seen some really interesting ideas fitted to people's cars too. It's great to see people innovating and trying new things! It's certainly given me some ideas for potential future projects. :)

Thanks for a great day. :)

Matt.
