Audis in the park 2013---billing aquadrome

Sorry about that David, I was very biased to the end with mine. I'm sure others have some shots of yours, did you take any?

Jon

No! I had a camera with me, but I was so wrapped-up in talking to all you guys, I didn't take a single photo! Tough!

David

I noticed an A2 with a cream leather interior. I wonder if you could tell me who the A2OC owner is, please?

David

Didn't think you believed in cream leather ?!

Now now!!
:D
Ah, The mythical cream leather......

The irony is David saw my interior when it was sat on his drive when we did a dash swap....

Was it SE or Sport though?

J

Finally i found time to post a little feedback...

It was my first time in England and driving on the other side with my A2. Yet the change-over was easier than thought for me. OK, the first miles after driving off the ferry i really had to put focus on it (there was one situation during turn right where i had to correct myself driving on the left side). But on the last (3rd) day i have not thought so much about driving on the left anymore.

This WE it was a pleasure to meet the people behind the nicknames in this forum along with their great A2s (some including very unique modifications:)). I liked the open hearted attitude where you can ask for tips and tricks, either regarding repair, servicing or modifications.

Thanks to all who helped to make this social at AITP such an impressive event! Special thanks to David for the delicious english-tea, to Mike for all the organisation and "grill master service", to Tom for helpful translations where needed;).
All in all i can say that this social was definitely worth my long journey!

Findings
  • Petrol can be cheaper than Diesel
  • Votex-Density is quite high here (at least once a year on a small area around billing aquadrome;))
  • Long arms can be sometimes good to use in a left-hand driven car
  • Learned further A2-related terms: wheel bearing, knuckle, service flap, lumbar, subframe spoiler...etc:D

Photos
I also uploaded some of the photos i took during the social:

AITP 2013 Part 1/2
AITP 2013 Part 2/2

Hope to see you all again, either here or abroad...;)

Fantastic feedback and brilliant photos Phoenix. Thanks for sharing. Aside from being very jealous as I couldn't attend - this is the next best thing as the photos really serve as a documentary of the day.

* Great to see so many familiar A2's and Jon taking my place as the resident car cleaner! Good on you pal, its looking good. And Tom - yours looks dreadful beside it. Get your exterior sorted :p

* Hopefully David will be happy now as we have a few good shots of the famed DJ190 A2. I like it, and hopefully see you at ADI :D

* Calvin's A4 looks like a very unique and loved Audi. Will need to seek it out at ADI.

* Aside from the fantastic 1.2TDi's - car of the show for me has to go to Mustang-Owner. That's a seriously beautiful little A2 Jeff ( and you know it!)

Really looked like a brilliant day had by all, and its nice to have such good feedback from A2 Freunde as well.

Tell me about it! You'd never believe they were the same colour. I tried to leave my car at Jeff's, but was bullied into bringing it into the show to get the numbers up. I'd not had a chance to clean it since my return from a camping holiday. I also had half my interior missing and a boot full of tools and MikeMars' old stained seats.
I promise I'll get it looking better for ADI, as I was nothing short of ashamed.

So true. One day my work in progress will be able to hold its head high next to Jeff's, but that day is still some way away... unless someone has lots of spare cash burning a hole in their pocket...?

Thanks for the photos and the feedback, Phoenix. :)

Tom

I have to agree . I think Mustang-owner s A2 is the best A2 I have seen and I have used his A2 as inspiration. I have a long way to go to get it how I want, but soon I will have the full red leather interior and my A2 will be a step closer. The thing is these little cars are so addictive and really get into your blood and if you were to ask me what car would I want to replace it with it would have to be another A2 . I love these cars their character, their looks the way they drive and the dedicated owners on this forum LONG LIVE THE A2 !!!!

I will post some feedback on the german forum, too. Would be nice when it motivates some german A2 friends coming across next years AITP:).

Side Note: As i read "A2 Freun" quite often here. There is one special thing about the domain "A2-Freun.de". It has been choosen to result the term "A2 Freunde" which equals "A2 Friends" in english. With the top level domain being "de" it suggests itself for using it as part of the domain. So referring to the german forum as "A2 Freunde" makes sense here.

Wish I was there, unfortunately, I couldn't make it :(

HOWEVER..... I've got my very own ongoing events AOTD (Audi's On The Drive!) ...lol :)

Cheers
