Has anybody seen this weeks Auto Express? The reason I ask is if you look at the new Vauxhall Mervia on the front cover what other car does it remind you of.

Looks very familiar to me lol

I am looking at buying a new car for my wife at the end of the year and when I showed her the Meriva in Auto Express, the more we looked at it the more we realised that from the front it is a virtual replica of the A2 !

It's very sad that they felt they had to copy such a good design and then slap a vauxhall/opel badge on it.

In Auto Express this week, they have carried out the first road test of the Vauxhall/Opel Meriva. What I don't understand is why they didn't try to compare it to the A2 instead of the two cars they picked. Do you think it's because they know that it is such a blantant copy of the A2?!!

Same thing occured to me. You would think that they would pick up on the copycat design and put the two head to head. What exactly is their criteria for choosing which cars to test!.

My wife has test driven a Meriva for the DUtch magazine from auto express called autoweek *(www.autoweek.nl) the 23-04-2003 the article will be in that magazine I ll try to scan it than translate it and put it somewhere on the website.
