Auto Headlight Install (Bluetooth version)

I realised that I keep saying how easy an install this is, but then if you have never done it before it might be a bit tricky.

So I have put together a “how to” for this.

I will attach it here when I have sorted out a technical glitch with attaching the document

Finally added the attachment, I had to save it as a PDF it would not let me add a word document????

But I hope it is useful

Wow, comprehensive. Inspires me to have a go now. Thanks
Well worth it. £32 and ten minutes work and you have auto headlights and coming home/leaving hone lights.
The only downside is that the stock in China doesn’t last long.

I believe that it does. But I didn’t check it specifically. When I helped user “Klynie” set up his it definitely seemed to work correctly and one light for front and then changed to red when both on.
I will check later tonight when it is dark.

Took delivery of mine this morning..only downside is it doesn't have the chrome ring round it...gutted...may have a play with fitting later if I can find someone with a dremel I can borrow!!!

They don’t come with the chrome ring. But the rings listed as for the Golf mark 4 fit.
I only fit them into the fascia without cutting anything. To cut the hole and firmly mount the switch in the original position takes a bit of scary cutting.

the chrome ring can only be fitted if you cut out the hole in the fascia.

Why not fit it using the guide I just posted. Get hold of another fascia and cut that. You can then swap the switch over when you have finished cutting the hole in the other fascia.

Hi - I'd be VERY interested in the response and exact supplier for this as every time I ask a supplier they say no - i suspect the question isn't understood so they say no to be sure

This is the one you need Andy, it's what I ordered

Hi

I will check in the dark later to be 100% sure.
I will post done pictures of the warning lights.

I have dealt with the seller in China for years and they are really good.
The seller is

California_dog.

None in stock at the moment but he will let me know when more arrive.
Cheers

But that is not an Auto headlight switch, just a manual one

Yes thanks - thats the one I was dealing with and they said no! :)

Just buy a couple of non fog light front covers.
They just swap over without having to remove the fog lights.
If the fog lights look like they have not been fitted it can’t be a failure. They are not mandatory.
Less than 5 minutes to swap the fog light surrounds for the non-fog light ones and no MOT failure.
Even easier than swapping the headlight switch.

But it would be great if the warning lights work as they should when I check later.

Its the backs that dont light up - which is a failure.

How do i know this - when I first fitted and put my car in for its MOT it failed due to this and nothing else was even noted on the MOT!

I couldn’t wait until dark.

And the result??

Switched on the front fogs and the front fog warning light illuminated (Green).
Switched on the rear fog and the rear fog warning light illuminate (Red).

Bear in mind that mine uses the standard icon ring (I did not cut out for the new ring) but when I held the new ring in place the warning lights seemed to line up as they should.

So this seems to be the one to buy. (When they are back in stock

Fantastic great news Steve. I would have ordered this previously if they hadn't given me bum information!

Let me know if they come back with info on stock. Thanks
