Hi everyone,

Upon reading the page 'Things you might not know about the A2...' on the A2OC site, I see an entry that reads;

'If you keep the unlock/lock button pressed on the remote the windows automatically open/close.'

I may have lost the plot here, but I think I can remember reading somewhere that an Audi dealer can effect a setting (perhaps with that vag-com tool thingy?) that means the OpenSky roof will also open/close automatically in the same manner along with the windows.

Is this true? If it is, can anyone recommend doing this? It sounds useful to lock down the car totally with the press of a button, and I'd like to ask my Audi dealer to do this before I pick my A2 up next week...

Cheers!

It is not possbile to include the OpenSky System into the open/close-function, because the OSS does not have the same security measures preventing someone (or something) getting caught while the roof closes as the windows do.

Bye, Frido.

We have the same issue with our smart cabrio roof. You can open it with one touch of the keyfob, or the button in the car, but the button has to be pressed until it's fully closed. Explanation is the same as above, the roof has no 'bounce back' facility, so auto close could result in someone getting trapped.

In my instuctionManual it says that the OpenSky CAN be opened/closed with the keyfob. I tried it and it didn't work, but i think i'll call my local Audi-Dealer and ask them about it.

Bigshow I think you'll find the manual explains how to do it with the KEY in the driver's door but not with the buttons on the key!

Yip... I feel the same! The bloody fob only works within a 10 meter odd range around the car anyway so surely I will hear someone scream if I left them between the pieces of glass as I close it? When you close the windows from a distance the fob seems to work on a shorter range than locking/unlocking... so I think the same would be the case for the OpenSky...

I don't want to be a total ponce and lock and close all the car's glass and walk off... I can't even do that at the moment with the windows! You have to hold the fob button until they are opened/closed fully... So I just want that hold-to-close feature on the OpenSky thanks!

It seems that VAGPARTS are selling an A2 remote kit to close the roof & windows, see http://www.vagparts.com/pages/A2rem.htm
cost is £86 + VAT

The downside looks like you gain another remote key fob.

Although I give credit to Martyn for making this kit available, its relevance is marginal, I think.
It appears to give "one-touch" closure, rather than the "put key in lock and count to 10" for open-sky owners, or "squeeze key-fob for 5-seconds" for metal-roof owners

If you have wind-up back windows (as I have) its all a bit academic really, as nothing will close them except your hands!
