A question for a2steve really . Could you point me to some info about the front suspension upgrading . I’ve put new shocks on and would like to replace bushes as although it feels nicer there is still a bit of ‘vagueness’ as if something is loose . It’s also got track rod ends and drop links as well . Any help appreciated.

If you’ve fitted the original springs to new shocks then it will still be relatively wollowy in the corners. To get better handling you need some updates springs.
 
Steve , I will have to do that . I think it comes after sorting the brakes and the rear suspension which has a squeak . I will keep watching and asking you guys for advice . There are some impressive cars on the forum .

Just a set of new check straps to go and it’s ready.

Will be proud of this one going off as I know it’s been done to the best standard I was able.
 
I’ve just been informed by the current owner that this car is coming back up for sale due to a lack of use.

It’s had a few additions since I sold it in the shape of new discs and pads, DAB radio and underseat subwoofer.

If anyone is looking for a well sorted A2 around the £3k mark please get in touch and I’ll pass your details on.

One of your best projects in my opinion Steve. However buys it will be getting a proper one off car with some genuine craftsmanship in it via the wood additions.
