News Back with new A2

Just bought a replacement to my old A2 which died in July (crankshaft failure)
Purchased at auction a 2002, 78000 miles tdi in green, with black leather, Bose sound system (with an alpine 6 disc changer in boot) and cruise control. The abs light is on so it's booked into garage next week to make sure everything is sorted

ps i see your in Edinburgh so isn't exactly local but we have 4 guys coming down from Scotland
 
Not taken any pictures yet.. Will get some taken during the week once I have given it a good clean

It was badly listed at the auction and I popped in prior to auction just to see what it was like, was rather surprised it had leather and Bose But it was the full service history and decent mileage that did it for me.
Just hoping the abs light is not anything too serious but there is money left in the budget as the car was decent price
 
Sounds like a great find. There are many who would love to be to able to tell the same story!

Just an update on how the car is doing... I popped into see the mechanic yesterday and by chance the car was up on the inspection ramp so he could show me everything... Firstly the ABS issue was nothing too serious... It was a legacy of some very poor wiring, next the hand brake cable was badly worn and required replacing, although not totally necessary I got the bushes replaced as there was minor knocking noise. So at least the repair bill is sensible and means I got a bit of a bargain.
Next job will be to get the alloys spruced up (they are non standard alloys so in two minds whether to refurb or replace with second hand original a2 alloys)
 
I had to replace shoes and N/S handbrake cable on mine too.
