Bad radio reception with new alpine unit - hissing

Hi, I have got one of these a iDA-X100 the newest of the alpine ipod units, I had a iDa-0001 previously and had no problems with the radio reception but this one every radio station has that annoying hiss at points, all the time even classic, and radio 1. I'm not sure if it is the unit? could it be the unit or what else could it be? It was a brand new item. I took the unit out and checked the cables and even black taped the aerial connector to make sure it doesnt come loose but it makes no difference.

Any one have any ideas ?

You may need to fit the areial amplifier found at halfords, had to fit this to my Alpine

How do you find the IDA- X100, ive got the IDA- X001 and cant fault it, bluetooth and ipod display.

I wouldnt upgrade, there is not that much difference. No mute button like I had on my X001.

I think I have one of those areial amplifier already, I remember that plug and a metal tube... ummm

thats to expensive. look on ebay i just bought one for 5quid
