the date is on the terminal post 2/05 by the looks original battery
Battery died and the car won't even jump start.

Well it certainly is a genuine factory battery and so it really could be the original battery.
Not everyone would pay Audi prices for batteries. Also the condition looks old.

385 is probably 2003 May.
