Just to encourage you the following is taken from Autocar 24-May-05:

Every year the ADAC, the German equivalent of the AA. publishes eagerly awaited breakdown statistics of cars that have been on the market for at least three years, and of which at least 10,000 a year have been registered in Germany. And every year it is the Japanese brands that shine. But not this time. German cars feature right at the top in the majority of the seven categories.
According to the ADAC, the best way to avoid being stranded on the hard shoulder is to drive an Audi A2. It is the single most reliable car and dominates the small-car class ahead of the Mini. Toyota, shockingly, only comes in third (Yaris). Moving up to the compacts it is the Mercedes A-class which can be trusted most, Ford's Focus comes next, in front of the Toyota Corolla. The retrieval of Japanese honour is down to the Mazda 6. It is top in the mid-size.

I don't see the A2 as a small-car and the A-class as a compact. When I compared the two I thought the A2 had more space!

ours will confuse them, it is a 2004 car (54) on an 02 plate!

1.4 Petrol Special Edition, Ebony Black, grey leather, heated seats, climate, opensky, five spoke alloys for SWMBO (Replaced a 2002 1.4 Petrol SE) Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 iCDTi for me.

Completed mine for our 1.6 and gave it a good write up. only problem we had with ours has been having to top up with oil (oh and a water leak when it was brand new).

On a different note I've had an Akoya A2 TDI today as a courtesy car for the TT. I was impressed by the performance, seeemd quicker than I remembered and on inspection it is a TDI 90. Seemed to start pulling a lot lower and for longer. Very different to drive to our 1.6.
