Bespoke Branded Footwell Mats Group Order

Hello all,

I thought I'd move the list to the very start of the thread for easier viewing.

Here's the list below which will be updated periodically to show you the I have captured your interest. I'll revise the list over the next few days to ensure its fit for purpose but this should suffice for now:

As you've come to understand from pervious dealings, this Group Order is of course yet another zero profit venture. I'll be paying exactly the same for my mats that you are for yours. My time working in the background for you is free of charge, a way of giving back to the community I both enjoy and serve.

Kind regards,

Tom

I did keep all the images from the now-defunct clothing range, but they're on the PC at my house which I'm away from until Monday. I'm on an online training course all next week but I hope I'll get a chance to pick through them and sent you a couple of the best examples. I suspect they were probably computer-generated though by superimposing the logo to scale over pictures of the clothes, and altering the colours to suit.

Evening Ian,

The embroidery team haven’t used the new file from @ibesiano yet. So far they have used the .png file from the top left of our homepage as well as the same file that I converted to .ai using Photoshop.

Dan believes that changing the file yet again will bring an additional charge which I’m of course not willing to accept as they they are yet to produce a satisfactory sample with what’s been provided so far and believe the issue is the machines ability to embroider the detail of the logo.

I’ll continue to see what’s possible but if we want perfection I beleive it may be with a new embroidery team.

Kind regards,

Tom
How much are they asking to convert the eps if you don't mind me asking? These are one of the best in Leeds and the detail is very good https://www.peco.ltd.uk/gallery/

Thank you yet again Steve,

This source might well be invaluable in proceedings. There has been a development (hot off the press) with Simply Car Mats who are now going to instruct the embroidery team to use the file that you recently provided the Club with. There should be no additional cost but there was mention of a new template set up fee.

The cost of the embroidery are contained within this thread but for ease: The embroidery template set up fee is £60 and each embroidered logo swatch is £9. As the minimum order total is 30 sets which will include 60 swatches I have added £1 to each of the £9 swatches to make this set up fee disappear.

Should I run into further hurdles I'll be in touch with www.peco.ltd.uk, who look to be able to provide amazingly detailed embroidered patches.

Thank you so much again, real team effort this one.

Kind regards,

Tom

Not sure if it helps any Tom but here is a photo of my polo shirt with the club logo stitched in.....

Hello Dave,

This is exactly what I was after Sir, thank you. I'll have this to hand during future correspondence with the supplier.

Thank again, really helpful.

Kind regards,

Tom

The only thing is, the main offenders '2' and 'O' are not on the shirt logo... 😉

Hi Darren,

Yes I see that now and incorrectly thought the clothing had the full text along the bottom. Ive just compared the polo shirt image with the swatch I have here and they're pretty much identical in correctness. I have faith in being able to provide better that what has been recently shown, it will just take a few more weeks unfortunately.

Kind regards,

Tom

One long term thing has come out of this, for me at least, is a club "Brand" that we can go forward with, whatever the application.
Thanks to " @ibesiano "
Isn't it fantastic to have such a range of expertise within the membership. Onwards and upwards!
Mac.

Morning Mac,

Apologies for missing your post just over a week ago Sir. I wholeheartedly agree here, having our membership selflessly assist by bringing their individual skills to the table really is just incredible. True community spirit by @ibesiano which I am so thankful for, we really do have brilliant people here don't we.

Kind regards,

Tom

Morning all,

Quick update, I've been in touch with Dan at Simply Car Mats over the weekend and he assures me that the embroidery team will be commencing work tomorrow (Tuesday 3 May) with the revised imagine that @ibesiano so kindly converted for us all.

It'll no doubt take a few days to get a sample to me which I'm quite excited about as I've wanted a set of Club branded mats for a few years now. I never fully realised that it might take this long to solve though but this venture will get there.

Should the quality of the full text along the bottom of the Clubs logo not improve then there is only 2 real options for us:

1. Remove the full text along the bottom and just have the A2OC being eaten by the A2 line drawing

2. Take the embroidery element of this venture to another supplier

My fingers ar crossed for this moving in the correct direction within the next week.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday!

Kind regards,

Tom

Afternoon all,

Quick update:

I can confirm that things are progressing in the background with Dan and the embroidery team.

So far I have received an ink printed iteration of the Clubs logo using the awesomely reproduced image file that @ibesiano supplied us.

Here it is:
62B4DF56-ADAA-4CD3-B9AF-C27906C40EEA.jpeg

I’m sure you’ll all agree that it is much improved, thank you so much Steve for assisting with the image file. This is printed and not embroidered.

The embroidery team report they have also successfully produced an embroidered version sample which I should have by the end of the week or early next week at worst. It is much better but I have no images of it so far.

Should all be satisfactory when the sample(s) arrive then I see this venture gaining traction very quickly.

More to follow once I receive the latest iteration of embroidered logo swatch.

Thanks to all for holding in there whilst I continue in the background to ensure all details are correct prior to transmitting the payment emails. I know it has been said before on this thread, but I think the end is near!

Kind regards,

Tom

Afternoon all,

Yet another update:

Dan has received the revised embroidered logo swatch which is now in transit to myself.

Quite similar as before which is not satisfying my quest for total perfection although it might have to be what we settle for. Is it that bad?

A reminder of the progression below.

Here is what was started with, borrowed from the top left of the homepage:

Here is the first embroidered sample:

Here is the printed sample from the new image file:

Here is the final embroidered sample using the new image file:

Still has distortion on the full text along the bottom and seems to be the very best that the embroidery machine can produce.

For comparison here's both embroidered iterations next to each other:

Before I proceed I guess the next questions are…

1. Do we continue with the latest and final iteration or do we revise it to have the full text along the bottom removed?
2. Is anything lost if we only have the letters ‘A2OC’ being eaten by the A2 line drawing?:

This thread have come along way with a plenty of interest in this venture and feel a majority decision is in order, after all this is your venture as much as it is mine. We're all paying for this so only right to ask before a final decision is made.

Kind regards,

Tom

I don’t believe that the image of the latest embroidered sample you’ve just posted can be from the same file as the printed one. The shape of the O & C are completely different. In fact the same as the earlier embroidered sample.

Afternoon,

Honestly I can see exactly what you mean and the full explanatory answer is beyond my understanding. What I do know is that the latest embroidered logo has been produced with the new image file. I assume its just the way in which the embroidery machines software picks up the detail and embroiders it. I guess the very same could also be said for the first sample from the original file.

Whats your thoughts on proceeding and the questions above?

Kind regards,

Tom
