Big Brake Upgrade

Regarding Loctite.......When I put heated grips on my motorcycle they had used the blue loctite and I was told that if I applied heat to the end of the screw on the hand grip it would melt the loctite.....................it did..so I would imagine it would be the same on all loctite in a thread.

theres many types of loctite and advisable to always use the correct type as some are not so heat proof and some are use once and never be undone again lol.. ive 3 types of loctite , all with specific uses

High Strength Permanent Red
Medium Strength Removable Blue
Low Strength (small thread) Purple
Preassembled Wicking Grade Green

Sadly, this is due to Photobucket, the image host, now wanting a large fee to enable 3rd party linking ... Not a lot I can do about it sadly.

Do you still have the photos, either on your machine or your Photobucket account? Could they be uploaded directly to the forum?

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks for all your kind greetings. I wouldn't say I'm back though, the forum and club have forever been tainted for me and the lack of any greetings by those responsible, those moderators and former co-owners who were the cause for me taking leave, demonstrates that I'm not really welcome anyway.

For this reason, although I do have all the photos on all my various mods over the years, I shall not be uploading them to the site, as I will not give up my ownership of the material.

Hi Mike
myself (an ordinary member these days and not part of the admin or moderator team who are doing a great job ) and plenty of other admins and moderators that know you welcomed you back.
Lots of likes for your returning post but I know that you don’t like “likes”. It still indicates that you were welcomed back.

Sorry to hear that it was not enough for you. Your contributions always provided help.

I doubt that that anything I can say will make you change your mind, but I am sorry that you have decided not to return.

Best wishes in whatever you do.

Hmmm, it's got nothing to do with "not enough" - I am not nor was I soliciting for welcoming comments. I do not look at the "Like" list on posts because it's mindless and irrelevant to me and a source of division through cronyism and the forming of cliques.

Although looking at the list now and the messages that followed, I see that there is but one moderator, however the list of names who took the time to type a post rather than click the like button means more to me as I hold them in far higher regard than those admins/mods who are conspicuous by their absence.

I've not actually looked at the forum for well over a year. I only stopped by to explain the lack of photos on the forum and to update the FSD thread with my failure. There's pretty much nothing for me to contribute these days as everything has been done that can be done really and it's documented for those users who want to use the search function, as opposed to the ones who want spoon-feeding with answers.

There's one thing that's new to me that I came across earlier in the year and I may post about that shortly, but as I've said privately to one of those who posted a welcome message, the spirit of A2oc has been irrevocably ruined for me by the dictatorial actions of three or four moderators, one of which still has my clutch tool.

That’s a shame. I had wondered what had happened to end an obviously glowing membership.

I’m glad that lots of your advice and help remains and I wanted to say thank you as much of it has been very helpful and interesting to me.

Hi Mike,

While you were absent the moderators and some of the team changed and so you are not aware that several Moderators responded and welcomed you, some of the ex moderators / admin team and most of the "owners" rarely post these days.

So please don't see it that you are not welcome back.

You and I have crossed words in the past, but that is all it was, words and it is ok to disagree. I am sure that you agree, as you say you didn't like the cronyism, but you seem to also not like being disagreed with, so I guess we were never going to find that midpoint between "back slapping and disagreeing.

But there is no harm in trying again, surely? Why not give it a go and see if you can fit back in?

The members would benefit from your knowledge and help, isn't that what a club is about?
