Bird mess and dead flies - dirt how to remove

I was cleaning the car today and there are marks and stuff which I can't get off with a sponge and shampoo. My mate said to use clay and a lubricant spray to remove the dirt. Any recommendations? ..

Try Meguiars paint cleaner

The formula is a chemical compound instead of the old fashioned paste style, (try an old style cleaner and it can feel gritty in your fingers). Meguiars is slightly different in that as you rub it, the chemical breaks down and gets smoother. It will make the paint look "wet" then a good wax and the bird Sh... won't penetrate as easily in the future.

When this is done, if you get "mother of all bird crap" on the middle of the roof or bonnet don't leave it on for weeks to bake in the sun, just get a wet sponge and get in off within a day and you won't have this problem in the future

This is the website. But any good car shop will stock it

the one i like..... Wet cloth. Towel is fine. Soak it in water. Then stick it over the top of the dead insects.
Let it sit. Soak it some more. Sit for 20-30 minutes. And then wash off the insects.

Other way: spray with a mild washing-up liquid solution. let it soak in. Repeat 2-3 times, then wipe off.

Clay is a reasonable way to do it (i've not used it myself, but...), i tend personally to get the damn bugs off every couple of weeks before they bake in and then wax the front of the car twice so they don't stick so hard.
Rain also helps ;)

Ever washed the car in the rain? it works ;)

it is of course also possible you've just discovered your stonechips.....

I got the clay kit of meguiars seems to bring up a nice smooth clean finish took a while to do one panel but looks good now. Brought some of Turtlewax Tar, Tree Sap and Insect Remover to try on the bugs but the clay removes most marks.
