I've just got home to find a letter waiting for me, from Audi Driver magazine, which reads as follows:
"Dear Mike
AUDI DRIVER ANNUAL AWARDS
SATURDAY, 13th OCTOBER 2007
AT THE HILTON HOTEL, LYDIARD FIELDS, SWINDON.
You will know that each year, the readers of Audi Driver cast votes for the companies and organisations which they feel have offered them the best service during the past year. Now in their fifth year, the Audi Driver Annual Awards have become recognised as the best indication of what members of the public think of organisations in the world of Audi.
We have just finished collating the thousands of votes cast this year, allowing us to draw up a short list of the winners of the Gold and Silver Awards.
I am delighted to tell you that you have been short-listed for one of the Audi Driver Annual Awards and I will shortly be contacting you with the full details.
The awards are presented at the Audi Driver International gala dinner, held this year on Saturday, 13th October at the Hilton Hotel, Lydiard Fields, Swindon.
This is a great social event, beginning with a champagne reception at Swindon Audi. This is followed by an excellent dinner, the presentation of the Audi Driver Annual Awards and the evening is rounded off with a free casino.
The cost for the whole evening is very modest at only £35 per person and this comes down to £31.50 if you book a table of 10. In addition, we have arranged very attractive overnight rates at the hotel for those who wish to stay.
As I said earlier, I will shortly contact you with more details of the short-listing.
Yours sincerely,
Christa Hallam,
Advertising Manager"
So, your votes seem to have done the trick.
Therefore, if you haven't already done so, vote and also, if you were thinking of whether or not to come to the evening event, this news could just persuade you to do so.
Finally, whether we win anything or not, my thanks go to everyone out there who help to make the A2OC the thriving and helpful organisation it is.
Cheers,
Mike
PS When I hear anything further, I will of course post it here.
PPS. On looking at the website, it seems we've been shortlisted in 2 categories: Best Audi Club - Communications and Best Audi-Related Club - Information
