Not sure if this should go in this section but thanks to a white van driver who pulled off a slip road without looking and pushed my A2 across three lanes of the A3 in Surrey last night, I have quite a customised car.
Car is 2001 1.4Tdi SE - only had it three months...
Rear hatch shattered spectacularly, as did rear rear nearside glass (not sure what it's called - the 'window' behind the passenger window).
It's not until the rear hatch shatters that you realise just how much glass is there...
Rear nearside panel also dented but amazingly door still opens.
Car in bodyshop this morning for estimate (it was drivable - just - though with bits of bodywork hanging off it looked like a Clown's Car).
Me and passengers shaken but not stirred.
Would post photo but not sure how to...
What an end to the year!
Mark

As long as you are ok, that is the main thing. Car's are a little easier to put together; Ask Rob, he know's what i'm talking about.

Too right Scott.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune Mark. Did the white van stop once he'd woken up?

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a Merlot Red 1.4SE petrol originally.
Now an Ebony Black 1.4SE petrol with Red Leather, CC, Symphony + all the previous options we had.

He did stop. Told police that he smelled burning and was distracted, trying to look for the source of supposed fire...
Hope to get authorisation to get repairs done tomorrow - car currently at a VW approved bodyshop.

Sorry to hear Mark. Not good at Christmas, but you are ok, that's the main thing.

Thanks. The silver lining to the cloud is that the bumper had a large 'graze' in it that would have needed sorting out at some point. Getting a new bumper will change all that - although it IS a bit of a drastic measure!

Yeah, I had a bad bumper scrape, so I decided to sell the car! No, really! Just darn good timing with looking for a new motor-they only knocked £200 off for the repair-would have cost more than double at the retail repair price!
