Bonnet across Britain

Alison and I think this is a great idea and we would like to participate! :)

That's great. At the beginning of September I'll start collecting names of those who are willing to take part. That way we will have a general route planned that others can join onto as it moves around.

Just found out that I have a hospital appointment on Sunday 14th. A Sunday!!!!
luckily it is not until 17:00 so I can come along to AITP for a flying visit (I will have to leave at lunchtime).

Oh Fiddlesticks. (For want of a better word)

It's a good thing I'm starting it at ADI then ;-)

The bonnet is now made up. The black bonnet has been wer-sanded with 1500grit wet and dry so that the paint pens adhere well to it. Hoping to see a bonnet full of signatures by ADI 2017 and it can then be lacquered by Gary to give it a nice shiney black finish.

Right.....Sorry guys. I finished the black bonnet yesterday and DROPPED IT today making a nasty dent in the corner. Seeing as my name is on this I'm not happy to use it now.

We are now back to the Cobalt Blue bonnet, which I'm sure you'll agree looks barely any different

Please can I now ask for the names of those people willing to take part in this charity fundraiser and also your location in Britain.

I can then start to roughly map the route that the bonnet will take after ADI or at least know that the majority of the country is covered.

I've had quite a positive response by pm from members ooop north but not much from the south. Even if you have pm'd me can I ask that you indicate your interest again now via the thread.

Thank you all

I'm in. Will be in Yorkshire in November if it can make its way from ADI up North by that time. I can take it up to Scotland from there. Any Scottish members thinking of going to ADI , I can't make it this year.

Some great responses so far thank you guys.

I'll update the first page with those that have shown interest so far, but please keep them coming.

I think i've got a plan now that will see the bonnets path for the first 5 months. I'll have to do some private messaging but im hoping it will head up towards Yorkshire after ADI, then up to Scotland and back down south in the new year as I know a member from Scotland is heading south in March. From there then we can plan further in the new year.

THE CHARITY: - Vonnie sugegsted that every person taking part can just donate to the charity of their choice. I think this is a nice idea as the money will be spread further and some of the smaller charities may get some money. What I would like to do after the bonnet is returned to me at ADI 2017 is to auction it off to the highest bidder and the club can then vote on which charity receives the large sum.

Definitely count me in Steve; a great idea, wonderful social opportunity and just charitable cause.

Milton Keynes.

Some good news.

We as a club are backing this event with as much help as we can to make sure it actually happens and becomes a well run event to be proud of.

A2Steve started the ball rolling with this great idea And we will help him all we can.

I am very happy to announce that Hilary (Yorkshirehills) has agreed to help give this our best shot.

So let's all get behind this great charity event and make it a success.

We will be deciding on the charity (or possibly two charities) that will benefit from this later.

So keep an eye out, we will probably be asking for suggestions because there are so many deserving causes.
