Boost Leak - P1556 -

Hi all,
After a relatively hard acceleration my 1.4tdi 75 has gone into limp mode. A friend kindly scanned for codes and found P1556 indicating a boost leak. I've checked for obvious splits or disconnected pipes with nothing showing up as immediately obvious apart from this one:

There is a small darker patch at the bottom of the intercooler which I couldn't easily photograph, perhaps it's a split intercooler? Where would you recommend starting with diagnosing this issue please?

I don't see the intercooler, only hose from PCV valve to intake and piping (from turbo through IC to intake manifold), but no actual photo of the cooler. IC is where the pipe/hose from the first two pictures starts on the left side of the picture

Here's some photos of the intercooler, it seems a previous owner deleted the EGR valve completely!

The intercooler doesn't look in bad shape, so maybe the leak is elsewhere or very small?

IC doesn't look bad. Mine looks way worse...

Did you remove the clamp from IC hose before photo? It seems like it is removed
