Brake Fluid Change and general electrical help

Well, come October will be the Brake fluid service, and from memory it was quite an expensive charge, for a fairly simple task - if not time consuming. I was watching a video on you tube of a guy in America working on a subaru, seemed quite straight forward, but he said you needed to know the flow of the fluid, ie, what wheel should be done 1st, 2nd, etc.

I think I could just about manage that, but I also have 2 other issues that I am wondering about sorting out. Firstly, the cruise control no longer works, even though it was used very rarley! I think it must be a broken switch, or loose cable, any ideas?

Second small prob is that the rear parking sensers occasionally work! Sometimes they are fine, other times they just continually beep, as though your about to hit something! At first, it seemed to be cured by wiping the sensers, but not it just seems to be a random event! Anyone else come across this problem, I'm thinking it could be a bit pricey to fix.

maybe that was the pice last time, but usually have other things done too, so may have forgotten those, £49 sounds like a bargain really!

Will see if any sensers are out of place, as feel it must be due to other people parking and just hitting the car to decide when they have got close!

Regarding your cruise have you got a brake light out ? i remember Mike(Skipton) saying when he fitted my cruise that it would stop working if a bulb blows

Hi.

I remember when Mike Skipton fitted my cruise he said that if the break relay(I think thats what its called. Sorry if i got it wrong) goes it will stop the cruise working. All I know is that it is under the left hand side of the stearing wheel and looks a bit like a starter in a strip light.

On the parking sensor I had simalar problem with mine. It would shound all the time. It ended up that it was shorting by the rout it was following. Mike re routed it and problem solved.

If you are not far from mancherster I could highly recomend a visit to Mike Skipton. He can do service and break fluid change. He is the cruise guru.

I hope this helps

David

Yes could have been that it was 2 years ago now, or i could have been right if you have the bulb check (which i think is on the full DIS), and yes i would give Mike a bell well worth a trip to him
