not an expert so what does this mean as all other functions are normal.Bulbs in backwards?
There are separate circuits within the same bulb for these two functions. The bulb-holder should make it difficult to do this, but twin-filament bulbs like this can be fitted the wrong way round - so brake lights come on when the sidelights are turned on, sidelights come on when the brake pedal is pushed. Possibly if you are getting both on together with just the sidelights switched on, the bulbs are not completely backwards but are still not seated correctly in such a way that both circuits are being made. You may not be getting brake lights from the brake pedal if this is the case.not an expert so what does this mean as all other functions are normal.
