brake pad wear

What happens when the brake pad wear light comes on, does it go off after 30 miles or so or will it stay on until you wear your pads and discs out?
Mine was on for a day but has gone off again now. Could be a loose-wire?

If the wiring and connector are all OK, then once the light is on, it won't go out.

Your situation suggests to me that the connector is possibly cracked and the wiring is breaking circuit occasionally.
