Brembo brake covers

Why bother - you ain't got Brembos!

I very much doubt that they would fit the A2, as the caliper carrier setup is very different to standard (the carriers are built into the hub housings).

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks for the info Mike.

I was only interested because I didn't fancy painting the calipers and this looked like a quick fix, that is if they fitted.

Is there anyone in the south (Bucks, Berks, Herts etc) who offers a caliper painting service? Mine look decidedly corroded :(

If you can take the wheel off and have a wire brush, you can paint the calipers yourself:

Simply take off the wheel, clean with a wire brush and then give it 2 coats of Hammerite in your favoured colour!

Cheers,

Mike

Looks like that is my only solution Mike. :(

hi valveman i can recommend the calliper paint kits-not cheap but very good. they include a can of brake cleaner so you can get rid of all the dust and stuff from your wire brushing.the paint is a two part type and the tins look small but it goes on really well--NOTE don't mix it all up as once mixed it has to be used or thrown away. i so far have managed to paint two fsi a2's(front and rear callipers) and hope to do Vonnie's white a2(front only)this is all two coats.if i remember correct it cost about £18 and is available in all sorts of colours.
cheers mike

Thanks Mike.
Are there any recommended suppliers for these kits. Also does it take very long to dry from application of the paint? The 2 part application would indicate that the paint is some sort of epoxy and these normally dry quite quickly. I ask this as I was thinking of doing it when I change the disc and brake pads. Cheers

i got the kit from halfrauds (foliatec) yes it dry's quite quick on the calliper but stayed liquid for enough time to paint all four callipers with two coats-i did the front first so jacked the front and took both wheels off(axle stands!) painted one did the other -re painted first -re painted second, wheels on job done.cheers mike

I used this company off Ebay, you get brake cleaner and 1 tin of paint (enamal)

I went for the black, as with all the others wire brush drums and calipers, sprayed with brake cleaner and then painted. Used a heat gun to help as it says on the tin 15mins between coats and then 2hrs before fitting wheels, Then don't drive for 24hrs, well as mine where not that bad only put 1 coat on, but didn't paint the bit on the drums where the wheel sits. so could put the wheels back on, left for about 2hrs before driving and they still look great will probaly give them another coat before the winter

Cheers Phil
