Car Cover Suggestions Please

With my wife's A2 not being used much during the lockdown, I am looking to protect it with a car cover to stop the accumulation of bird poo, dust and help ward off damage from the kids' sticks they tend to pick up and carry home. Has anybody found an outdoor car cover that fits the A2 well? I'm hinking that generic small car covers will not always be the best fit for the slightly differently proportioned A2 and be baggy in various quarters. Thank you.

.....expensive but well worth it. ?

don't put a cover on your car, you will have paint problems in a few years , only use 100% cotton sheets and keep car in garage otherwise do not cover it .

SE, Thanks for your thoughts above. The cover you have looks good, but as you say, a little pricey. Any signs of damage from continued use? I'll research it a bit more.

Spen, thanks for the warning. Do you think or know whether the damage comes from rubbing or lack of airflow?

Unless you live with very bad conditions ( coal fired power station, nature reserve etc ) I would give the paint work a thorough clean, follower by clay bar and lastly some REALLY GOOD car wax / polish. My cars are always outside and around here the seagulls have been trained by the Luftwaffe in precision bombing. All I use to remove the bombing run is a hand pressurised container with tap water. Covers can scratch and rub paintwork when they move about in the breeze, they can trap moisture onto the paintwork either by letting water in or preventing it evaporating off. But ultimately the choice of to cover the car is yours.

Hi
Even the most breathable covers will cause moisture, but it won't affect every car.
I discussed this with a friend who owns a car bodyshop when looking for a cover for my A2 , he said honestly don't bother as he has many a customer come to him years into owning classics and they cannot understand bubbling on the paint, his first question is do you cover the car and 99% of the time the answer is yes. The repair is back to metal. thousands ££
Hope this helps
Spence

I personally have had no issues with the car cover but I am aware that if a car has been resprayed with paint flaws then there could well be future concerns with the use of covers.
