Hi

I'm probably being stupid but can anyone please tell me what a boot cargo platform is?

Now had the car 2 weeks - aren't they brilliant!!!!!
 
Not all cars have it. My standard spec car doesn't. Without it when you open the boot, all you see is one single large boot volume. The boot platform acts as a false floor, diving the boot in to two compartments. For cars with a spare wheel, the wheel sits under the platform, leaving the space above it clear for normal luggage.
 
If by cargo platform you mean the false floor (the 3-folding carpet covered thing), then these were standard on SE A2s only - not Special Editions, but SE.

Thanks a lot for the info.

I wanted to buy a boot liner but it stated that it only fitted models with a cargo platform - mine is a sport which I guess is why I don't have one.

Anyone know where I can get an Audi bootliner to fit my boot?

I bought one for the false floor and one for without as we don't always have the false floor in. They were both bought from anhttp://www.towequipe.co.uk/itemlist.html and I'm happy with the quality and fit of them. I also bought on from the same folk for the Volvo.

The anti-slip ones have a large square of grippier rubber in the centre to help stop items moving. We have 2 anti-slip and one without. The anti-slip one is better in my opinion and now they're all the same price.

Thanks both for the website addresses - like the look of the deep (expensive) one but not sure that I can justify paying that much - then again when I think how many times I took rubbish to the tip last year maybe it makes sense.

Better go and check my bank balance.......
 
cheap false boot if yours is missing

surely one could be made using a sheet of mdf from b&q ect/woodyard, cut it out using a jigsaw and a holesaw for a hole to lift it up when needed and covering it with black/grey speaker felt or that cheap cord carpet from a carpet shop in a colour to match your interior, glue carpet/felt down a yard of that should only cost a few pounds, i would estimate £15 max
