Caring for CS roof

Back to black will be very short lived on the arches and will be washed off quite quickly. Why not try the wax you have used above?

I did, however it didn’t do much to mask the streaks and blotches on them unfortunately. I realise back to black washes off but I think I need something with a bit of colour in it. Or is there a product I’m missing that’s more permanent?

A quick footnote... I was about to try Simoniz Back to Black Bumper and Trim, however while I was googling videos of how to apply it, I stumbled across a YouTube video of someone refreshing the black trim on their LR Discovery using teak oil. The guy stopped short of recommending it however the results appeared impressive, so I decided to try a little clear Danish oil i had lying around on a microfibre cloth. The test came up really well so now I’ve applied it to all my black bits, besides the lower front valance and grille (and obviously not the roof either). I’m really impressed with the results, and you only need a fairly tiny amount. As for its longevity, time will tell however it’s withstood rain this morning and even if the effect wears off quickly it’s child’s play to apply. Photo below, tho sorry no “before”... trust me it’s a lot better.

So please don’t take this as a recommendation as such but you might want to give it a try on an inconspicuous part and see for yourself.
