CCCU serial numbers

Hi. I'm exploring getting a replacement CCCU module installed because of ongoing central locking problems and other niggles. I know how to remove it and, presumably I can therefore also install the replacement. I know that some reprogramming is required to sync it to the car and the key fobs and I'm making enquiries on this site as to who can do that for me. I do have another question though - when I look at second hand CCCUs on eBay (there's usually a few there between £50 and £100 or so), it's clear that there are different variants and I'm not sure about compatibility. Can anyone advise on this? Our A2 is a 2002 1.4 SE Petrol. Thanks in advance.

Well then the safest way is to replace like with like, just read the part number on top of current. If you have a CCCU ending in a single letter a good plan is to "upgrade" to a double letter, more reliable the older single letter are proving leas reliable especially the Q. The all singing and dancing AF has the best reputation but you will may need the key(s) to come with it.

Edit. I see Tom is in contact -.you are sorted.
