Ok, the bad news is that I am 30 in Nov :( but obviously as well as a new baby on the way that month I am in line for a nice pressy.

I would love a CD player for my A2 but I also want one that will play mp3s on a cd ?

Can anyone recommend one - and list all the accessories I will need, an online store for these would be even better ?

I know I have asked this before and so have others so we should gather the info for a guide of some sort.

Anyways, hopefully this won't cost too much :)

Just had a look around and this would probably be a good place to start.

http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/redirect2.php3?cat=source&type=cdmp3&res=10&first=0

Prices from £180 up to whatever you want to pay.

Once you've decided on which unit to go for, its always worth a visit to www.checkaprice.com as this will list all the deals at the moment. Just saved over £200 on a camcorder by using checkaprice

Not sure what advice I can give as I'm in the same boat-my single slot concert II is ok, but I wanted to attach my Panasonic 6 cd changer to it-no luck so far as there isn't room for it in the car.

So I've been looking, and the choice is vast when it comes to headunits. Basic MP3 type are cheap-ish as Rob says, but then you:

Blaupunkt MP3 and DAB unit for about £350
Headunits with slots for memory card for MP3 data
Headunits with hard drives (16gb!) which store MP3 or if you want the unit can rip a CD as it is!!

I give up!. I'll take up singing to myself and swapping single cd's in my concert II.

David,

At the ripe old age of 30 you will find many things in life change. You talk of CD players and MP3, however you will find that your favourites like the Beverly Sisters, Vera Lynn, and Victor Sylvester do not have their music on CD’s. I think you need one of those juke box type players that copes with 78’s and 45’s – although building one of these into the dashboard could create a few small problems.

well I was in Halfords on Sat and they ordered the only part I need apparently - a facia. Think I am going for the Kenwood at £275 which copes with CDR and MP3 which is great. I waivered a little on Sunday as it is a lot of money.... but I think it is a good idea as I converted my cd collection to mp3 for the purpose ;)
