Central Convenience Unit - AGAIN!

Morning people!

Yet again, i'm in here about this damn unit on my A2. Bought a new one just over 2 years ago (was lovely of my Audi dealer telling me it was 'just' out of warranty!), and again its failed.

Key blippers not working, and its failing to tell the car that the back doors are locked. even though they are.

I heard of 'Lau' from the German site, who can fix them etc... is this correct and has anyone had any experience using him? I'm reluctant to hand over another £215 for another unit that is so young. Audi are getting a letter from me!.

Any pointers in the right direction would be gratefully received!

BTW, isn't this weather great!

There are several users on the German site who have used his services, and they come recommended. I've sent him a PM over there (repairs should be of the order of €70+mailcosts) with a request for him to comment. It may be that I need to do some translations. I cannot publish a link to the thread as it is in the club-private area of the forum.

There are no guarantees on his work - I think this would be unreasonable - but the success rate so far seems very good.

Thanks Brett, much appreciated. Audi are being insistent its all my fault, its out of warranty and that they want me to take it to an Audi dealer to 'establish' the issue. Yeah, at the tidy sum of £59.93!
