Hi ,
I’m after some advice regarding wether I need to pay the congestion charge / ULEZ having driven to Hayes (UB31AJ) from Harefield on Friday & again today .
From the site Post code checker it says
only LEZ is chargeable but only for lorries etc !
If I enter my Reg it says congestion charge & ULEZ payable for London zone
(euro 3 standard)
Any advice welcome as I need to pay by midnight tonight.
Many thanks
Keith

Nope, you're good. It isn't yet October 2021 and you didn't go inside the North Circular (unless you went a very funny route).

I bet all their automation and efficiency is in collecting the money, not in giving it back where it's due
Hi Proghound,
Do you know if this has changed I can’t get a clear answer from the various sites
Thanks
Keith

Hi,
Harefield to Hayes on Friday in a2 1.4 tdi , Can anyone answer this as may need to pay by Monday evening.

You only need to pay if you go inside the North Circular / South Circular loop.

TFL is the definitive site for advice on this:

I'm sure that if you didn't go inside the North Circular, you'll be fine. Worst you could do is put your number plate in tfl.gov.uk and see if it thinks you owe anything.

My understanding is that my A2 1.6 FSI is non compliant in the newly extended London ULEZ. I unintentionally strayed into the zone on Friday evening and went to TFL online to pay. It was necessary to open an account and log in, but when I did , the payment form says that based on my vehicle details, I don’t have to pay. That was a welcome surprise, so has something changed in their system to recognise the relatively low emissions of the A2? My vehicle logbook has not been amended so that is not the reason.

The FSI and 1.4 petrol are both compliant with the London ULEZ Emmissions requirements.
I think it's a good idea to get your V5C updated to Euro 4 anyway.
Mac.

Thank you for that quick confirmation Mac. I only had a few hours until
the payment deadline, so much appreciated.
While I’m on here, a recently had a service and MOT done at a local Audi specialist. I was worried that the ( permanently on) EMS light would cause an MOT fail, but they said the EMS lights before 2005 are disregarded and passed it. Any thoughts?

Have it scanned. If you can pop down to me, I'll do it for you.
I'm in Hook, five minutes from Junction 5, M3.

I believe that an EML which is lit up at the time of an MOT test is only considered as a fail on petrol vehicles registered post 1Jul 2003.
